Migrating from Mail Manager to PentagonMail Assistant is surprisingly simple and pain free. You don’t need to move or re-file your messages, all you need to do is convert your ‘collection’ file/s to PentagonMail Assistant's Group format and then open the new file/s in PentagonMail Assistant. The conversion is easy via the tool below; the converted files will appear in your browser's download folder.

Mail Manager Collection file converter

Browse to your Mail Manager collection file and hit 'Convert' to receive an equivalent PentagonMail Assistant group file. You don't need to move your existing messages or re-file them, just place the new group file in the same folder where you had the Mail Manager collection file and then use our Location Manager to connect to it.

Place each converted file next to the original collection file and then open it from there as follows:

Start the Location Manager and select Connect then File System Group. Browse to the folder where the Group file is stored, select the file and then the Open button.

Your filing locations will appear as filing tiles in Outlook. Try right-clicking a tile to search a location.

That's it. It's fast, simple and you can continue to use Mail Manager at the same time.

Manage your own licences

PentagonMail Assistant's licensing portal allows you to manage your own licenses, so if someone leaves the business and you need to allocate the license to a new employee it's just a few clicks. Large businesses can opt to purchase enterprise licenses which remove the need to manage licensing yet provide visibility of who has which version installed.

One license per person

The licenses are linked to your email addresses so each person can have as many devices as they like without having to purchase additional licenses and this applies to virtual environments too.

No need for M-Files licences

You may have noticed references to M-Files which is a third-party document management system. If your business uses M-Files, PentagonMail Assistant offers an excellent way to file messages into it, but if you don't have a need for it you can use PentagonMail Assistant to file to the same storage that you are currently filing to with Mail Manager.

Continue to benefit from off-line filing and search

Filing processes behave the same whether you are connected or disconnected from the storage. Filing requests are cached so that messages are automatically filed when you next connect. As with Mail Manager, you can search whilst offline too but have the advantage of a rich preview and a search experience that is both easier to use and more flexible making you more productive when off-line.
