Transmittals 1.5 is the new version of transmittals that has been re-written to improve performance by moving processing of the Transmittals from the client to the server, as well as caching project, company and contact objects. This results in a much-improved user experience.

A ‘transmittal’ (aka submittal) is a document widely used in the AEC industry to record what was sent to whom, when and why. Without PentagonDocs Assistant, users typically create these manually with spreadsheets. PentagonDocs Assistant generates the transmittal sheet based on metadata quickly and accurately.

The transmittal can be generated in PDF format (additional formats will be supported in a future release). The files included in the transmittal are zipped ready for distribution by the user. Although the delivery method can be set to ‘E - Email’, PentagonDocs Assistant will not email the resultant transmittal directly to recipients, this is purely for recording purposes on the document issue sheet. The maximum ZIP file size can also be set so that it won’t be rejected by email servers, in which case PentagonDocs Assistant will create a spanned zip file (this is a zip file broken up into multiple component files, all of which need to be placed into the same location in order to open and unzip the contents of the spanned zip file).

NOTE: When building a new vault or installing Transmittals 1.5 for the first time, the database must first be created using functions found in the Database section - find detailed information in the Transmittals V1.5 Administration section.
