Creating a Meridian Group
When PentagonMail Assistant files messages into Meridian it needs to know what Document Type to assign them to, and also which Folder to present to the user as the filing location on the tile in Outlook.
It will then synchronise data in the email to a PropertySet that is assigned to the Document Type so when you find the message in Meridian, its document properties will show all the information that has been extracted from the email.
Whilst you could map an email to any Document Type, you are most likely to map it to an 'email' Document Type that has all the properties of an email e.g. Sender, Recipient/s, Sent date, etc.
The PentagonMail Assistant Meridian Configurator enables you to add and edit Groups to achieve this. The tool is not installed by default so if it's not probably present on your machine - re-run the installer and add it, you will then be able to access it via Windows' Start menu.
Before you proceed, think about how documents are organised in your company, as this could influence how you configure the filing groups.
As you may have already seen from the section Understanding Filing Locations, you can organise your Locations into Groups.
Open the “PentagonMail Assistant – Meridian Configurator” from the Windows Search.
Select “Open Meridian Vault” and select the desired vault.
The below error message pops-up to let you know that the vault has not been configured for PMA before. Please press "OK".
In the example below there is already a filing group for "Projects". You can have as many groups as you want and can configure as many Meridian vaults as you want too.
In the next steps, you will see how to add one filing group for "Customers".
Click "Add Filing Group".
In the "General" tab, provide the appropriate information, including "Name", "Email Document Type" (Emails) and "Email Property Set".
In the "Property Mapping" tab, assign mappings to the desired Meridian properties. Once done, click "OK".
The "Customers" group is now added. Click "Save Settings" to commit the changes.
