What does mapping of the fields provide

If you map email properties to fields in the Document Library, PentagonMail Assistant will populate the fields with the email properties. This can be helpful if you want to be able to list and sort messages by Subject, Date, Sender, etc.

You don't have to map fields

You don't have to map any properties to Document Libraries fields. PentagonMail Assistant will still file emails into the Document Library and you will also be able to search and filter them with all the fast capabilities of PentagonMail Assistant's own search tool.

You will first need a document library with all the fields that you want to update

You may already have a document Library with the fields that you require. If you don't, this recording shows how you can easily add fields to a Document Library.

WARNING: Be careful to ensure that the data types of the fields in SharePoint match those of the data you are inserting. For example the Sent date requires a data type of 'date'

How to map fields

Launch the Location Manager either from the menu in Outlook or from the tray icon.

Right-click the required SharePoint Group and pick Settings. To enable the Property Settings tab you will first need to test the connection to SharePoint, so pick Test Connection and then select the Property Mappings tab.

NOTE: You don't have to map all of the email properties and can just select those that you want

Now when you file into SharePoint your fields will automatically populate with this data.
