PentagonDocs Assistant has been developed as a solution to address modern challenges of managing ‘work-in-progress’ design and construction documentation.  It is built on top of the popular document management system M-Files, which can accommodate any type of file, but contains specific tools and plug-ins that support Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). PentagonDocs Assistant further enhances the product with tools to support AutoCAD, Revit and MicroStation.

Many organisations are using the adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) as an opportunity to review their standards and improve their internal processes.  This often includes the introduction of the ISO 19650.  PentagonDocs Assistant has been configured to facilitate the automation of BS1192 and ISO 19650 naming conventions, and PAS1192 workflows, as standard functionality.

Although many design companies are considering adopting ISO 19650, many follow other varying naming conventions at the same time and may also need to conform to their customer’s drawing standards too. PentagonDocs Assistant can be configured by you to accommodate any standard you may encounter.

Also, while many companies are looking to adopt the PAS1192 workflow for document lifecycle management (review and approval), many companies will have their own in-house quality standards, so administrators are able to configure the workflows to suit your own quality standards. NOTE: Configuration of workflows and document numbering is covered in the system administrator training, which is part of the initial implementation.
